THE VISIONARY
Jessica Dwyer, known professionally as Jessica Charlie, is the visionary behind Luxury Hair Bar. Her name, a heartfelt tribute given by one of her father’s former mentees, reflects her deep connection to her father, the late Charlie Shorter, a legendary master hairstylist and haircutter in Hartford, CT. Inspired by his talent and legacy, Jessica embraced her own niche in hair care and pursued her cosmetology certification at the prestigious Marinello School of Beauty in Enfield, CT.
As a Master Stylist, Jessica has honed her expertise in hair cutting, extensions, silk presses, ponytails, and overall hair care. Her dedication to excellence and passion for helping clients look and feel their best are the driving forces behind her brand, Luxury Hair Bar.
Jessica also brings a wealth of experience to the classroom as a cosmetology instructor for the Academy Dicapelli and DiGrigoli School of Cosmetology, where she has taught for three years. She previously served as secretary for the Cosmetologist’s and Barbers of New England and actively participates in continued education with industry leaders like Dudley’s, Influance, and Design Essentials. Her career has taken her to pageants, fashion runway shows, and numerous photoshoots, showcasing her artistry on diverse platforms.
With dreams of expanding her business into multiple locations, Jessica is committed to building a legacy of luxury and innovation in hair care. Her unique blend of skill, creativity, and a warm, personal touch makes every client’s experience unforgettable.
And a fun fact? Jessica loves pairing salty French fries with vanilla ice cream—a quirky treat that reflects her vibrant and playful personality.

Meet Nicole C., a talented cosmetologist and an integral part of the Luxury Hair Bar team. Nicole specializes in various areas, including locs, braids, sew-ins, and crochet styles, bringing creativity and precision to every service she provides.
Her goals include continuously refining her skills to become a better stylist each day and working towards launching her very own product line, reflecting her passion for hair care and innovation.
Natasha is a driven professional with a passion for personal growth and continuous learning. Her goal is to be better than she was yesterday while discovering something new every day. Ronald is a skilled cosmetologist and a proud batch 2000 graduate of Goodwin Tech in New Britain, CT. He specializes in finger waves, roller sets, and hair care and takes pride in supporting lead stylists. In his free time, Ronald enjoys cooking and staying active through exercise.
